Ian Archibald, P.E., is an Electrical Engineer with a Bachelor’s Degree from Idaho State University. He has over ten years of experience as both a design engineer in the facility design industry and as a Substation Engineer for the Idaho National Laboratory. His facility design experience includes designing commercial and industrial building power and communication distribution systems as well as medium voltage substations. Ian has extensive experience conducting Arc Flash studies for various government facilities throughout the United States. As a Substation Engineer he has supported the upgrade and improvement of several medium voltage substations at the INL as well as provided maintenance support for these substations.
He has striven to uphold the strong safety culture of the Idaho National Laboratory by identifying hazards and mitigations related to high and medium voltage work. He was recently promoted to Power Systems Operations Manager at the INL to further promote and develop the Safety Culture at the INL.
