Jared currently serves as the Behavior Based Safety (BBS) and Peer to Peer Program Manager for the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) at the Department of Energy’s Idaho site. Jared has served as a safety professional within the occupational safety and health directorate for 3 years at the INL. Jared assists with identifying both good and bad outcomes and the behaviors that could have triggered them to help mitigate or prevent unwanted outcomes and promote the good behaviors through feedback and marketing. Previously coming to the laboratory, Jared worked 16 years in the mining and chemical industry as an operator, learning and development trainer, and safety and health liaison. Jared currently holds qualifications in industrial safety, assessment lead, and behavior based safety training and has held many other certifications including OSHA general industry outreach instructor, incident investigation trainer, mobile equipment instructor, and scaffold builder and user instructor. Jared has provided multiple presentations on various safety and communication topics at local, regional, and national conferences. Jared has a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety & Health Management and a certificate in Human Resource Management from Columbia Southern University.
